The California Driver Education Association (CDEA) was formed, in 2003, as a direct response to many instructors who complained of a lack of informative resources for them.
Other driving school associations catered, primarily, to the owners. While information about profit-making and bottom-line strategies are important to the owners, very little time was spent on actual training issues.
CDEA conducts Continuing Education seminars, in accordance with the California Vehicle Code, Section 11105, and the California Code of Regulations, Title 13, Div.1, Chapter 1, Section 342.95. These seminars are reviewed and authorized by the DMV, for application towards the 18 credit hours required by the above cited laws. Dates and locations for upcoming seminars can be found on the FORUM, under the topic Continuing Education.
We are also re-designing our website to include hundreds of resources for instructors, to use during their daily training with novice drivers.
